Communal village near Tampere. There are nine wooden single family houses with composting toilets. Families maintain together the infrastructure of the village: road, central biomass warming system and local waste water system.

The objective of the research was to compare two ecological villages (Bromarv and Kangasala) with two similar housing areas by studying their basic features and how they function.
