MODERN ARCHITECTURE CONSERVATION - RESEARCH AND TRAINING PROJECT

MAC 2006, Modern Architecture Conservation - Research and Training Project, was a European research project to study the prerequisites of conservation of modern suburban architecture. The project received a grant from the European Commission Culture 2000 Framework Programme and was implemented during one year starting from September 2005.

There were two main objectives. The first one was to establish a European maintenance process for modern architecture focusing especially on the prerequisites of building conservation. Another objective was to promote the dissemination of knowledge, competence and good practices concerning the safeguarding and restoration of modern suburban architecture in Europe.
