Getting Started

Install Python

  • Wille requires a Python interpreter - CPython and Jython are known to work
  • Wille works with Python versions 2.5 and above. CPython 2.4 may work as well, but is not official supported.
  • Check if your system already has a compliant version of Python by invoking python -V in console
  • If not installed, a copy of Python can be obtained from python.org.
  • For Jython users: See WilleOnJython for Jython-specific notes

Install Wille

  • Download a copy of Wille
  • Extract the ZIP Wille to location of your choice (for instance C:\wille2)
  • Add Wille's Python libraries to Python lookup path by appending libs/python folder to PYTHONPATH:
    • Example: If Wille has been installed to c:\wille2\, you need to append c:\wille2\libs\python to PYTHONPATH.
    • Windows users: For help on setting up PYTHONPATH, see "Excursus: Setting environment variables" (python.org)
    • Depending on your operating system, you may need to restart the system to update path variables

Run Wille Server

  • To start Wille Server from command line, go to Wille root directory and enter
    python wille-server.py
  • To confirm that server is running, enter http://localhost/ with your web browser
  • To stop wille-server press CTRL+C
